Code of Ethics
Valliant High School Student Council

If elected I will…

• Be dedicated to the ideal of VHS and VHS Student Council.
• Serve as a member of the team: maintain an enthusiastic, positive and cooperative attitude: respect the thoughts and ideas of others.
• Be willing to commit the time to appropriately perform all Student Council activities.
• Be willing and able to travel without conflicts at home, work, or school.
• Work to develop myself into an effective public speaker and project a desirable image as a student of VHS.
• Be prompt with Thank You notes, letters, reports, and other necessary or desirable correspondence.
• Accept constructive criticism and evaluate my own performance.
• Keep myself up to date on all school activities.
• Forego all alcohol, drugs, and tobacco while involved in any official or unofficial activity which represents VHS.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper grooming at all times.
• Avoid places or activities which would raise questions as to my moral character or conduct (i.e. by-pass fights, bars, etc.)
• Consider friends and girlfriends AND/OR boyfriends as secondary to Student Council responsibilities.
• Use wholesome language in all speeches and informal conversations.
• Avoid participation in and actively discourage any conversations which belittle or degrade fellow Student Council members, VHS students, or adults.
• Be willing to accept guidance and direction from adults responsible for Student Council activities.
• Not abuse the office.
• Be willing to communicate and cooperate with ALL Student Council members at ALL times.
• Understand that in the action of the fifth absence from any Student Council activity.  I will be reviewed by the Sponsor and /or officers to determine whether my position as a Student Council member should still remain active.
• Know, understand, respect, and abide by the Student Council Constitution and Code of Ethics.
