Valliant Cross Country at Battiest Meet on August 29, 2026

This morning, city officials spotted a bear on the Valliant Public Schools softball field. The bear moved north, away from the school campus.
We want to reassure everyone that no children were near the softball facilities at the time of the sighting. We greatly appreciate the quick response and assistance from the Oklahoma Department of Wildlife, local law enforcement, and our city officials as they worked to address the situation.
Our school administration will continue to closely monitor the campus and work with local officials as needed. We wanted to make our community aware of the sighting, particularly since many of our citizens enjoy walking around the school campus after hours.
As always, we encourage everyone to remain aware of their surroundings and use caution when visiting the campus.
Thank you to everyone who helped ensure the safety of our students and community.

As we wrap up our staff in-service, we want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing community partners for taking such great care of our staff. A special thank you to FirstBank, First United Bank, First Baptist Church – Valliant, and Watermill Church for providing meals and refreshments over the past several days. Your generosity, support, and kindness made a tremendous difference as our teachers and staff prepared for an exciting new school year. Pre-K families: Your first day of school is Friday, August 7th. Doors open at 7:30 a.m. 🍎 Students may grab breakfast in the cafeteria, and then all elementary students will report to the elementary gym.
