Valliant Parents and Students, We have been working on a plan that would allow us to return to in-person school and be able to serve meals, possibly as early as Wednesday the 30th. While we are still in a planning stage, we are extremely hopeful that we can nail down the details and make a formal announcement of the plan on Tuesday morning. We want our kids to be in school. We also need your help to prevent spreading Covid to the school from outside sources. Wash your hands, wear your mask, and watch your distance. #weareValliant

After further notifications this evening, involving the Child Nutrition Dept, we will be unable to have in-person school and will switch to a Virtual Format for the week of Sept 27-Oct 1. We will further assess the situation tomorrow morning as there is a possibility that this decision could continue through Oct 6. Although we had prepared for an alternative meal, further staffing quarantines have prevented that option. I am terribly sorry that we have had to make this decision as we want our kids to be in school.

Parents and students, We will be making a change to our meal service over the next several days. We will be serving hotdogs on Thursday and will be serving "Ready to Eat" pre-packaged meals beginning next week. All meals meet USDA nutrition requirements. While this is not ideal, we are doing everything we can do to keep your children in school during the interruption in staffing to our Child Nutrition Department. Please be patient with us as we try to meet the challenges presented by Covid-19.

Census Deadline Sept. 30 With just a few days remaining, it is imperative that Oklahomans complete the 2020 Census #FinalSprint. An estimated $1,700 per year is lost annually per uncounted resident. Spread across a decade, the potential loss to federal education funding would be staggering.

Parents and families, We wanted to let you know about an important resource to help families who are struggling because of the pandemic. If your child was eating free or reduced-price lunch school lunch in March 2020, you are eligible for food purchasing assistance of $250 per eligible child! The Oklahoma Department of Human Services will be sending Pandemic Electronic Benefits Transfer benefits, or P-EBT, to eligible families – you do not need to apply. If you already have an EBT card the benefits will be loaded on your existing card. If you do not currently have an EBT card, please look out for a P-EBT card in the mail. Watch closely as the outside envelope may not clearly say P-EBT. P-EBT is provided to any child who was receiving free or reduced-price school lunch in March 2020. It will not impact your citizenship or immigration status. To learn more, visit www.hungerfreeok.org/pebt. Thank you!
