We want to wish our Lady Bulldog Softball team GOOD LUCK today as they begin the regional tournament!! Below is a message from Pocola Schools where the tournament will be held, with information on tickets, parking and the bracket! Go Dawgs! Greetings from Pocola Public Schools! I apologize for the late notice, as the move to commencing regionals today wasn't anticipated. Thank you for your willingness to ensure the regional slow pitch tournament is completed in a timely manner. I have attached pictures of the regional bracket and a parking diagram for your fans that plan on attending. Tickets for admission can be purchased through ossaa.com (GoFan) for $8.35 or $10 at the gate.

So many things to be proud of in the middle school this year. Here are just a few of the recent achievements by our students. Our quiz bowl team won state in social studies, we had two (2) students place first and fifth in the Oklahoma Trash Off poster contest, and we have had success in the FFA speech contests. So proud of these students and all of our student successes this year. More to come soon!

Valliant JOM/Title VI Indian Education Parent Committee will meet on Monday, April 22nd at 6:00 p.m. in the Valliant Administration office to discuss and develop the 2024-25 program application, budget, needs assessment and end of year activities. Valliant High School and Middle School students showed out at the State FCCLA Convention last week. The following students placed in the top 3 in the entire state! Cursten Wheeler placed 1st in Entrepreneurship Jabez Johnson placed 1st in Public Policy Advocate Jayda Bond placed 1st in Sustainability Layla Foreman placed 2nd in Culinary Grill Kylie Dickenson placed 3rd in Focus on Children Jabez Johnson and Cursten Wheeler also qualified to compete at Nationals! Congratulations to our students!

Valliant JOM meeting Tuesday April 16th and Wednesday April 17th in the High School Saferoom from 3:30-4:30. JOM students will begin with an introduction to drones and then solve a real-world problems using and navigating drones. For more information please contact Linda Coffman.

Valliant Students are eclipse ready! A special thanks to Dr. Peter Bako from The Eye Guys in Idabel for taking the time to speak to our students about eclipse safety. We would also like to thank the McCurtain County Health Department for providing safety information as well as a pair of viewing glasses. This allowed each student to have two pair of glasses thanks to a donor who wished to remain anonymous. Enjoy this once in a lifetime event.

So proud of our middle school students and their accomplishments. Mr. John McKinney is a State Powerlifting Champion as a 6th grader, we had nine (9) students place at the McCurtain County Curriculum Contest, we have continued our success with one (1) absence or less for the month of February, and we had six (6) chosen as students of the month by our teachers. #BulldogStrong #MiddleSchoolRocks

The Valliant Middle School will be having a Safe Schools/Healthy Fit committee meeting on Thursday, March 28 in the middle school safe room at 3:35pm. All are welcome and encouraged to attend. Come and see what we are doing and share your ideas, too!

If you plan on enrolling your student into Pre-K for the 2024-2025 school year, please follow the instructions in the attached document as soon as possible. Devyn Ballard gathered donations from a "wish list" given to her by The Valliant House staff. She was able to gather around 110 items ranging from beauty supplies to stationery supplies. Devyn completed this task as a service project for her FCCLA STAR event. Staff at The Valliant House stated they were appreciative and would love if anyone could donated new pillows.

Congratulations to the February Senior Spotlight Students! My name is Kyra Franklin. I've spent all my life in Valliant and was very involved in the sports community when I was younger. Right now I am currently involved in culinary and our media class. I have also been in Yearbook all 4 years and was selected as Editor for the last 2 years. After high school I plan to attend OSU-IT for an online degree in Graphic Design while also maintaining a business on the side. I’m Daniel Morris and I am a senior. I’m the 2021 and 2022 Angler of the Year in the South East Oklahoma High School Fishing Trail. I am involved in trap, skeet, forestry, and golf and enjoy each greatly. After graduation I plan to go straight to work.
