Dear Parents and Guardians, We want to inform you that due to ongoing renovations and the need to provide contractors with uninterrupted access to our school facilities, we have decided to implement a "Distance Learning" day this Friday November 17,2023. This temporary shift will allow the contractors the necessary time to efficiently complete the remodel, ensuring an improved learning environment for our students. Distance Learning days count as a school day and do not have to be made up at a later date. During this period, students will engage in learning from the safety and comfort of their homes. Teachers will provide instructions and assignments through our established online platforms, maintaining continuity in the educational process. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to enhance our school facilities for the benefit of all students. Thank you for your ongoing support. My name is Jabez Johnson. I have attended Valliant High School for four years, and I am the October Senior of the Month. I am involved in many clubs/organizations at Valliant. I am the senior class Vice President, Spanish Club and Art Club President, Student Council Reporter, and Treasurer of National Honor Society. Outside of school, I love reading books and watching movies. When I graduate, I plan to attend the University of Oklahoma and obtain a bachelor's degree. I am the President of the Valliant FFA Chapter and Vice President of the National Honor Society. After high school I plan to attend Southeastern Oklahoma State University to obtain a degree in elementary education

We are very proud of Jazzy Hester, Elizabeth Lawrence, Carter Bryson, and Kyra Smith for their success in competing for All -District Band today in Durant. Carter was 3rd chair out of 20 in Tuba and Kyra received 16th chair out of 79. Congratulations!

The middle school will be having a canned food drive for the Valliant community during the week of November 6-10. Non-perishable canned food will be collected by the first (1st) period teachers. The class with the most canned food items by November 10 will receive pizza and a drink for lunch on November 13 . Please, if you can, donate some non-perishable canned food for those in our community who are in need. Thank you all in advance.

Take a look at the updated brackets of the Valliant Middle School basketball tournament! The first 3rd place game begins at 3pm today, November 3. Come out and support your students as they compete. Games have been running fast, so be sure to arrive early. It is a $5 entry at the door for everyone. We hope to see you all there!

****UPDATED SCHEDULES**** It's that time of the year again! The Valliant Middle School basketball tournament will begin on Tuesday, October 31 and continue on November 1, November 2, & November 3. This year both the Valliant 5th graders and Valliant 6th graders will be representing the Bulldogs individually in the tournament. Please see the brackets for game times. Valliant JOM meeting will be held on November 1st at 3:30-4:30 at the school cafeteria in Celebration of Native American Heritage Month. Guest speaker Presley Byington will present the history and importance of the Native American medicine bag with a hands-on demonstration/workshop. All Valliant JOM students are invited to attend. Tonight we celebrate 50 years of football at Bulldog Stadium. Get your souvenir cup to commemorate the event at the concession stand while supplies last for $3.00 each full of ice. Kickoff is at 7:00 pm. We will be recognizing players form the 74', 84' 94', 2004 and 2014 years as well as those responsible for the construction of the stadium, and a VHS football legend at halftime.

Valliant Public Schools is collaborating with the Georgia Tech School of Computing Science to create a School District Transfer Locator Program. This program will quickly locate which district is a student's residential district in any school district in the state of Oklahoma using GPS mapping. This will allow for accurate transfer requests. Georgia Tech seniors Hai Vo, Ethan, Povlot, Brandon Schmitz, Annika Pederson, and Kathleen Butler will be presenting this project on December 4, 2023, at the Computer Science Design Capstone Expo in Atlanta, Georgia.

Valliant Middle School will be having Parent/Teacher Conferences on Tuesday, October 17 from 4PM - 9PM. Also, do not forget that there will be no school on Wednesday, October 18 through Friday, October 20 for fall break.

Valliant JOM meeting to be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Valliant school cafeteria for all JOM students. Meeting will focus on STEM activities involving making a solar-powered circuit, a solar bug. Students will also review numbers & counting in Choctaw Language.
